Hi everyone, this is Suit Club.
Western wear is divided into one-piece tops and suits, and suits are divided into two-piece suits and three-piece suits. For general informal occasions such as tourism, visits, social gatherings, etc., you can wear one top with a variety of trousers, or you can wear denim and other fashionable trousers according to your needs and hobbies.
Semi-formal events such as general gatherings, visits, summits, and larger events during day should be dressed in suits, but you can also opt for more relaxed colors and patterns depending on atmosphere of event. such as checkered, thick striped and light-colored suits - neat and lively;
However, on formal occasions such as banquets, formal meetings, weddings and funerals, large-scale press conferences, official ceremonies and special evening social events, you should wear elegant colored suits, with dark and solid color suits being most appropriate. The choice of colorful patterns is not taken seriously enough.
In June 1983, when Reagan visited four European countries, he caused an uproar by wearing a plaid suit, because, according to convention, a black dress should be worn at formal diplomatic functions to show solemnity.
01. Choosing and Using Suit Button Styles
The style of a suit can be well reflected in style of buttons. In addition to practical function, suit buttons also have important functions of decoration and style. For suits, there are single row buttons and double row buttons.
Single buttons are divided into single buttons, double buttons and three buttons. In informal occasions, it is generally not necessary to fasten a button to show chic and elegant demeanor, but in formal and semi-formal occasions, it is necessary to button up real button, i.e. first button of one button and double button and middle of three buttons. They are all buttoned up, but second button of double button and first and third buttons of three buttons are pattern buttons (also known as loose buttons) so don't need to button them up. There are four buttons and six buttons for double-breasted buttons. The two or four buttons above are sample buttons and should not be buttoned.
02, wearing pants
As another important part of overall costume, trousers must be combined with top to form a harmonious whole. The length of standing trousers should be such that spout of trouser belt just passes through top of pelvic bone. The waist of trousers should fit in palm of your hand after button is fastened.
When wearing trousers, buttons of trousers must be fastened and all zippers fastened. The pants belt is usually 2 meters 5~3cm wide, which is more beautiful. After belt is fastened, length of belt head is usually about 12cm. Too long or too short is not aesthetically pleasing.
03. Shirt selection
When wearing a suit at social events, shirt is an important item, which is quite specific. Generally speaking, shirts that match a suit should be crisp and free of wrinkles, especially neck and cuffs.
For formal occasions, whether worn with a suit or not, hem of shirt (with long sleeves) must be tucked into trousers, and cuffs must be buttoned and cannot be turned up. In absence of a tie, shirt collar can be left open. When wearing a tie, a shirt with a stiff collar should be worn. The collar should be closed. After closing collar, it is advisable to put your finger into it. The length of sleeves should be 1-2.5 cm longer than sleeves of suit, which meets requirements of etiquette. When wearing shirts with short sleeves in summer, hem should generally be tucked into pants, but there are no exceptions for shirts with short sleeves and padded collars.
04. The tie is soul of suit
In PR activities, use of different ties can make changes in same suit. A tie is not only an important decoration of a suit, but also an integral part of it.
Someone once said, "A tie is soul of a suit." There are many types of ties that can be broadly divided into general ties and >Deformed ties of two kinds.
Common types of ties include slip knot ties, square ties, bow ties, etc.; Tie fabrics include wool, silk, leather and chemical fiber. From flower type, there are small flower type, striped flower type, idea flower type, patterned flower type, combined striped pattern flower type, antique satin flower type and so on.
As a general rule, a tie should be worn at formal or semi-formal occasions. The method of tying a tie is also very specific. As a rule, after fastening shirt collar, tie is put on outer part of collar, then wide part is lightly pressed at angle of collar and pulled on other end. so that tie is naturally caught in middle of collar without having to lift collar. The most important part of a tie is bow tie. You can get bow ties in different sizes and shapes using different tying methods. People can choose tie tying method they like according to shirt collar angle. Generally, if collar angle is small, small tie method should be used, and collar angle should be large tie method.
But whichever method of tying is used, after tying, both ends of tie should hang naturally. The upper wide part should be slightly longer than lower narrow part. trouser waist or even hanging below trouser waist. If a suitable suit and vest are available, tie must be placed inside vest and tip of tie must not be exposed outside vest. The width of tie should not be too narrow, otherwise it will appear stingy, and width should be consistent with shape of person's face and width of suit collar and stiff shirt collar.
05. Handkerchief and suit pocket
Some community events require a suit and handkerchief. Suits and handkerchiefs can be finishing touch and icing on cake. Decorative handkerchiefs are usually white, ironed, folded into different patterns depending on occasion, and are placed in suit jacket pocket. Among them, raised style is a common decorative style for walking and playing. The method is to hide corners of scarf in a bag, and naturally raise exposed part, without pretense, without showing edges and corners. This style is called "Audemars Piguet" in US.
The pleated cut is generous and natural, plunging bottom of handkerchief into bottom of bag, exposing edges and corners like tentacles poking out into blue sky, demonstrating unrestraint. The style of petal is similar to petals of a flower. The method is to make regular folds along edge of handkerchief. The sharp corners of four corners are uneven, half-exposed beyond pocket, like a hibiscus emerging from water, graceful in style, and this style is quite appropriate for ceremonial cases.
TV fold is an abbreviation for word "television" in English. The name "TV fold" comes from shape of Western TV fast food box. 1 cm. This style is mainly used on suits with wide lapels. In addition, methods for folding triangular, triangular, and two-pointed shapes are relatively simple and more common in general cases.
The organization of your suit pockets is just as important. The two pockets on sides of jacket are for decoration only and are not suitable for storage. The pocket on chest of jacket is specifically designed for carrying handkerchiefs. The inner pockets of jacket can hold items such as ticket clips, notepads and pens. The right bottom pocket and back pocket of trousers should also not contain protruding objects to ensure an even girth of hips and a beautiful shape of trousers. Of course, three main parts of a suit are right choice and wearing of suits, shirts and ties. These three-dimensional phrases are harmonious, and overall consistency will make wearer more personable, extraordinarily elegant and charming.
As a general rule, dark suits and white shirts are most appropriate choice. In case of a colorful suit paired with a shirt of same or similar shade, result can be quite good. But with a striped suit and a plaid shirt, effect may not be perfect, and stripes create a sloppy feel, and vice versa. In short, general idea is that shirts and clothes should be in contrasting tone, and darker suit, brighter shirt. Of course, one should not forget about role of tie. The color of suit is stable, and color of tie can be relatively bright. While color of suit is simple and elegant, tie should be luxurious and bright, otherwise it will look washed out, especially when color of shirt is not bright, a bright tie should be chosen.
However, this is not absolute. If suit and tie have same color tone, if they have shades of color, it will be successful
This is a complementary or contrasting color, and this contrast is only contrast in entire costume and also has special effects. One more thing to remember here: patterns (eg stripes) of suits and ties cannot be repeated;
In general, common ways to combine suits, shirts, and ties in public and in public are as follows:
A black suit with a white or light-colored shirt and a silver-grey, blue-black and black pinstripe tie;
A medium gray suit with a white or light blue shirt and a brick red, green and yellow tie;
