The dot is first element among various form elements. The point in concept is infinitely small. It has only position, but no size and shape. Different images in a real application will give people different visual and psychological experiences. The points have a connected function. When there is only one dot on screen, all of our eyes will be focused on that dot. In order to highlight or accentuate visual effect of a particular part in a shape design, we often use this dot function to achieve a given Effect. For example, LOGO on upper is a good example. Since LOGO has characteristics of dots, when looking at shoes, eyes will involuntarily be drawn to logo.
Using a single point
When two dots appear on screen at same time, it can be divided into two cases: first case is that size of two dots is same and our eyes will move between two dots. There will be a psychological connection. It can be re-composed with same content so that content repeatedly comes into view to achieve purpose of highlighting. For example, in design of shoe modeling, use of certain patterns. Another situation is two dots of different sizes, which is very convenient for directly highlighting certain content on screen and supplementing it with secondary content.

When there are three or more dots at same time, it can feel like a virtual surface. The more dots, smaller gap between dots, stronger feeling of this surface will be.
Virtual surface formed by several points
Like a form language, different dot shapes evoke different psychological sensations in people. The shape of angular dots has a strong impact, while shape of curved dots creates a soft floating feeling. There are many forms of expressing points in specific forms. If designer captures characteristics and shapes of dots accurately and in place, creating a perfect and harmonious visual effect is not difficult.
